MAKING YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION FUN

[ess_post]

Many cultures have traditions related to New Year’s Resolutions and in Costa Rica that is no different. Many people vow to change certain habits, for example, going to the gym more, eating healthier, or speaking in a nicer way to loved ones. Personally, as an accused “work-a-holic”, my resolution is to spend more a little more time exercising and taking care of my body. We all know that doing the same thing, the same way, leads to the same results, so it’s important to plan change so that things do not remain the same.

I believe that it’s crucial to put any resolutions or new ideas in a positive light, as opposed to focusing on the negative side of things. For example, instead of saying, “I won’t eat fried food ever again,” (or in my case, overindulge with a bottle of wine, delicious aged cheeses, fresh-baked bread and Italian olive oil and dipping sauce), it’s more beneficial to say “I will be conscious of making good food choices on a regular basis and occasionally allow myself to splurge.” In place of, “I won’t be stressed out anymore.” try saying, “I will notice the simple pleasures in life and be grateful for them.” In this manner, the focus is on what you want to achieve, rather than what you want to avoid. Change is not only about focusing on the positive, but it is about striving toward it and continuing to move forward.

I have heard many people say that for this coming year they want to travel more, reconnect with loved ones and take some time away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life and have some adventures. Well, our luxury vacation rentals located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica can help you accomplish all three of those goals at once. Our luxury villas are spacious enough to bring all of your loved ones along on the vacation of a lifetime! They are centrally located to the San Jose international airport and are near adventures big and small. Hiking trails to private beaches, ziplining through the jungle, soaking in waterfalls and white water rafting are some of the dozens of options near Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Want to spend meaningful time with your family? Try doing so over a chef-prepared meal right in the comfort of your vacation rental. No need for cooking or planning, Chef Klaus Thalau will organize your grocery purchases, prepare a delectable meal and will serve you and your family with warmth and a charm that will allow you to relax and really sit back and enjoy your time.

So while everyone gets their list of resolutions together, I suggest you stamp your passport in Costa Rica as proof that you traveled more, got closer to friends and family and took some once-in-a-lifetime adventures. As the start of 2014 approaches, I raise my glass to making realistic and positive resolutions–whatever they may be, that you will enjoy sticking to and that will be fun!
